Italian Lessons

25th October 2015

We are really delighted to welcome Samanta Fornino, Edoarado and Lorenzo’s mummy, into nursery. Samanta has been teaching us Italian over the past couple of weeks! The children have really loved it and have picked up the Italian words for numbers, animals and colours very quickly! Samanta will continue to work with the children on a Monday morning. Thank you sooooo much Samanta!

PE and Jo Jingles

25th October 2015

The children have really been enjoying their lessons with Leanne from Jo Jingles and Birgitte from ABC Physical Education. These programmes will continue for all groups for the remainder of this term. Remember you are more than welcome to come along and join in the fun!

Pets to visit nursery

25th October 2015

We recently sent home a letter to all parents asking for permission to allow the children to participate in meeting some of our family pets! Aimee (our office junior) is very much looking forward to bringing Molly, her horse, in to allow the children to pet. Molly will stay in her pen in the car park! We also have a number of other parents (and grandparents) who have agreed to take in their adorable pets. We would really like to arrange these visits over the next couple of weeks. If you haven’t already returned your child’s permission slip, please do so by Friday 23rd October. Many thanks.

Aberdeen Football Club and Angus the Bull

21st September 2015

The Wellie Tots and Wellie Beans really enjoyed their sessions with the AFC coaches and learnt lots of new ball skills. We made very good use of the Prime Four multi-purpose court and a few goals were scored! Angus the Bull was a real hit with all of the children (and staff) and led the Wellie Babies over to the court to spectate and cheer on our budding footballers. Many thanks to AFC for their encouragement and motivation! It really was great fun!

Jo Jingles, Line Dancing & Song Writing

21st September 2015

Our Wellie Babies and Wellie Tots have really been enjoying their music, dance and drama sessions with Leanne from Jo Jingles. Remember that parents are more than welcome to come along and join in the fun. Just check with your Room Supervisor whether the session is on the Wednesday or Thursday of that week. The more the merrier! Pamela, one of our Practitioners, has very kindly volunteered to teach the children some line dancing over the next few weeks! They will learn the line dancing steps to catchy pop tunes! I can’t wait to see them! Thanks Pamela! Leanne, our Pre-School supervisor, has also been very busy playing guitar with the children and writing their own song! Watch this space for our very own KingsWellies ditty!

Cash for Kids – Big Bake Day

21st September 2015

Many thanks to everyone for donating to our Big Bake Day this week. The children all worked very hard to make some tasty goodies to sell for this very worthwhile cause. Many thanks for helping us to make a difference to local children.

Creative Station and Construction Corner

21st September 2015

We hope that you like our new Creative Station and Construction Corner. The children have been having lots of fun building and designing. Look out for our outdoor percussion area (you will probably hear it before you see it) and our Mud Pie Café! We want the children to continue to have lots of fun outside even as the weather gets chillier. Please ensure that your child has appropriate outdoor clothing – gloves, hat, scarf, coat and wellies (waterproof if possible). All-in-one suits are also excellent to keep the children dry, clean and cosy.

Spanish, Zumba, Police Scotland, Lunch at the Urban Village Resort Hotel, Master Chef Training and L

21st August 2015

The children have been extremely busy learning Spanish, jiving at Zumba and learning about the importance of recycling! Spanish will continue every Monday with our Wellie Tots and Wellie Beans. Zumba will take place every Friday with our Wellie Beans. Jo Jingles will take place every Wednesday and Thursday (consecutive weeks) with our Wellie Babies and Wellie Tots. We also had a very exciting visit from Police Scotland who spoke to the children about stranger danger and even let them sit in the police car! I got a real shock when I heard the siren going off! The children thoroughly enjoyed making and baking their own individual pizzas with the help of our own Master Chefs Bruce, Aiden and Stevie! This will be regular opportunity with Aiden agreeing to make and decorate muffins, spaghetti carbonara and a variety of other delicious dishes! Thanks Aiden, Bruce, Stevie and Entier for giving up your time! Our six P1 children LOVED their posh lunch over at the Village Urban Resort Hotel. Great excitement was had by all and it was a lovely treat for our special boys and girls. Good luck to them all in P1!

Interactive Learning Diary

21st August 2015

The staff have been working with all children to compile individual learning journeys which will show each child’s progress and developmental milestones. The Interactive Learning Diary (ILD) is a simple and easy-to-use reporting tool to assist staff with recording observations, assessments and learning journeys within each child’s own personal diary. These electronic diaries will be available for parents to see and to participate with. We are aiming to provide you with access to your child’s ILD by October 2015.

Good luck to our boys and girls who will be leaving us to go to Primary 1!

21st July 2015

We have 6 grown-up boys and girls who will be leaving us at the end of the Summer to start the next exciting chapter of their lives in P1! As a special treat, the lucky six will be able to choose whether they would like to have a ‘posh’ lunch at the Village Urban Resort Hotel, go for ‘Afternoon Tea’ at Starbucks or go for a delicious ‘deli lunch’ over at Fresh! Decisions! Decisions! We will really miss them and wish them all the very best wishes for their new careers in P1!
