Messy Children are Happy Children

As always, we have been playing outside as much as possible. Water walls, water slides, mud kitchens, shaving foam, playdough, construction, messy play, painting, planting and allotments, loose play, minibeast hunts, hedgehog preservation, picnics, forest schools, eco schools, park visits and so much more! We are having so much fun but sorry if we come home a bit messy! Please excuse the mess, your children are making memories!

Lots of our children have already started to leave us and we have to say that all of the emails, messages and cards have been really appreciated and mean a lot to the staff. The very kind words mean such a huge amount as it proves that we have achieved what we set out to do. We genuinely only want the very best for all of our children and families.

This year we have had around 37 children leaving us to go to school. These children are going to 18 different school settings. We have worked hard to have very productive dialogue with each of these feeder primary schools. We will also get in touch with each one again at the end of term 1. This is to gain feedback on how well our KingsWellies children have settled into their new school environments. We only want the very best for them all and want them to be as ready as can be, for the next part of their educational journeys. This feedback is very important to us and helps us to plan our future transition processes. We will miss you ALL very, very much but know that you are all ready for P1 and that each and every one of you will go far! Remember to send us photos of you in your school uniforms.
Class of 2026 Graduation

On Saturday 27th of July, the KingsWellies graduates had great fun at their graduation party/ceremony. We started by doing some dancing games, followed by a magician show. This was AMAZING and had all the children’s (and staff’s) attention! We then enjoyed some yummy party food before inviting the parents in for our graduation songs/certificate ceremony! Many thanks also to Leanne from Kids Rock for coming in to sing our songs with us!
Health Month June 2026

Throughout June, KingsWellies Nursery spent time focusing on our annual Health Month. This involved planning lots of activities around the following topics: Keeping Fit, Healthy Eating, Mental Health and Keeping Safe. The children LOVED experiencing a range of different activities to progress their skills. Some of their favourites were; making smoothies at Common Sense, baking various healthy recipes, road safety, football with Stewart, self-portraits, developing their friendships, visits from police, fire, dentist, Child Smile, surgeons, radiographers and vet, Gym Bunnies, baking with Chef Lisa, talking about emotions, having spa days and much more…
Kilt Walk and Wellie Waddle

We are so happy to share that the children at KingsWellies Nursery SMASHED the set target of walking 15 miles over the week and accomplished a grand total of 42.1 MILES during their recent Wellie Waddle The KingsWellies staff also took part in the 2026 Kilt Walk, where they walked 18 miles across Aberdeen. Together we raised an amazing £2,260 for Cash for Kids, North East Scotland. Huge thank you to all who donated.

We have been very busy with Graduation planning and partying, visiting Hazelhead Park and lots of local parks, Health Month, bucket fillers, stay and play days, friendships and teamwork, daily mile, visits around the community, Gym Bunnies, Chef Lisa, Moo Music, Kids Rock, French, Yoga, Flash Dance, Rugby Tots, Happy Body Healthy Me Campaign, sun safety, Eco Schools and sustainability, Forest Schools, Rights Respecting Schools Awards, planting and improving our gardens and playgrounds, picnics, pizzas, BBQs, getting ready to go to school, learning Makaton, learning all about Transport, mini beasts, Summer, people who help us, lots of outdoor play safety, Dance of the week and LOTS more……
Staffing Update

West End Wellies would like to welcome Daria, Morgan and Aimee to the West End Wellies team. Daria is based in the Badgers room and Morgan and Aimee are in the Cubs room. Cubs Supervisor Taylor has now left West End Wellies and we wish her all the very best in her new career. Lauren and Megan have stepped up as Supervisors in the Cubs room and we are very excited to see them flourish in their new roles. Eryn will also take on the role as acting supervisor in the room until Jodie returns from Maternity leave.
Health Month
14th April 2026
For the month of May, we will be looking at Healthy Eating, Mental Health, Keeping Fit and Staying Safe. Thank you to all parents/carers who have come forward offering to come into the setting to speak to the children. We are excited to host Police Scotland, a Paediatrician talk, Football with Katelyn and much more. We will keep you posted as we finalise our timetables.
Charity Fundraiser

West End Wellies team were blown away by the generosity of our families who participated in the recent 200 km cycle the Wellies team did for Ronald McDonald House. We raised a whopping £2761.50 for this truly wonderful charity. We cannot thank you enough for your support throughout the challenge. Our West End Wellies team loved completing the 200km cycle over 5 days!
